Town Centres

There has been a huge amount of investment to support the development of town centres across Tees Valley

Middlesbrough’s retail centre is now one of the North East’s largest, and includes the attractive Baker Street cultural quarter. Stockton has just finalised the £25m transformation of its High Street, while the market town of Darlington delightfully combines modern and traditional character, with a mix of national high street stores and independent shops filling the town’s distinctive Yards and Wynds.

In Hartlepool Middleton Grange Shopping Centre’s multi-million pound redevelopment plus a proposed £7m redevelopment of the Church  Street area to create a centre for innovation and skills mark a new prosperous chapter for the town. Niche retailers, independent stores and cafés can be found in the picturesque market town of Guisborough.
